Danielle and I just ventured out to get paint a few towns over and yaaaay we did it without any terrible mishaps! Got on the bus and told the guy we wanted to get out at Nana and then we did and asked some directions and got to the right tiny paint shop.  It’s kind of a given that you’re going to get whistled/jeered at in Peru, especially if you’re a white woman out unaccompanied.  Still, that doesn’t make it anywhere close to acceptable, and I gave the finger to a big group of Peruvian guys that were making Danielle and I uncomfortable.  I’m pretty proud of myself since I never have the presence of mind to respond in any way but keeping my head down.
